Picasso, his life and loves, portrayed in Flamenco

Picasso, his life and loves, portrayed in Flamenco

Picasso, his life and loves, a biography in Flamenco, was created by Helena “La Leyenda” (Sadlers Wells, BBC tv, Channel 4, ITV) and features an international company of 6 dancers with cameos by Madrid's Rosario Serrano, the ethereal voice of legendary Andalucian singer Fernando Reyes and the vibrant flamenco guitar of Tomas de Cordoba.

Probably Pablo Ruiz Picasso is the most well recognised artist of the 20th century if not of the art of the last millenium. His personal image, his face, is ubiquitous becoming his brand with those dark piercing eyes, his prolific career as an important artist spans over 8 decades, his enthusiastic involvement in modernism, in all of the confused and confusing artistic trends of the 20th century, trends he often led, his pink period, blue period, cubism, surrealism, his equal facility in painting, sculpture, pottery and ceramics are that of a true Renaissance man and last, but not least, the complexity of his many, many, often damaging, relationships with women as muses, models, lovers and wives who all had deep influences on his work. As often as he abruptly cast aside his women his art changed equally radically, a great artist but an honourable man ????
