Tintoretto: A Rebel in Venice tells the story of the painter Jacopo Robusti (1519-1594), the only great Renaissance artist to never leave Venice (even during the plague years) who earned the moniker of Tintoretto, or the Little Dyer, thanks to his father's profession.

Through the life of the painter, the film outlines the socio-political context of 16th century Venice. It was a culturally flourishing century, during which other giants of the art world also played a leading role, such as Titian and Veronese, Tintoretto's eternal rivals. At that time, the Serenissima Republic was confirming its maritime supremacy by becoming one of the most powerful merchant ports in Europe and facing the tragic plague of 1575-77, which wiped out most of the population, and left an indelible mark in the Lagoon.

The documentary also closely observes the thorough and complex analysis carried out by an Italian team of experts in order to restore two of Tintoretto's masterpieces: "Mary in meditation" (1582 - 1583) and "Mary reading" (1582 – 1583). The two pieces have been restored in time to be exhibited as part of the monographic exhibition on Tintoretto taking place at the National Gallery of Art in Washington to celebrate the 500th of his birth in 2019.

Tintoretto is in almost every museum in the world and yet it is only in Venice that one can understand and love him. Tintoretto is the true mirror of Venice. In life and work, he reflects the spirit of the lagoon city. He's a one of a kind genius: open-minded, restless, brave and with a strong love for freedom - unstable and elusive, just like Venice.

The Stag Youth Theatre will be performing A Series of Public Apologies by John Donnelly at The Stag Theatre as part of National Theatre Connections – a nationwide celebration of new plays for young people.

A Series of Public Apologies is one of ten plays written especially for Connections by a selection of the best playwriting talent in the UK.

This satirical play is heightened in its naturalism, in its seriousness, in its parody and piercing in its interrogation of how our attempts to define ourselves in public are shaped by the fear of saying the wrong thing.

Presented quite literally as a series of public apologies this play is spacious, flexible and welcoming of inventive and imaginative interpretation as each iteration spirals inevitably to its absurdist core. This is a play on words, on convention, on manners, on institutions, on order, online and on point.

National Theatre Connections is one of the UK's largest celebrations of youth theatre. Plays are commissioned for and about young people, from some of the best contemporary playwrights, and performed by schools and youth theatres all over the UK and Ireland.

Narrated by, and featuring, Academy Award-winner, Jeremy Irons, The Prado Museum: A Collection of Wonders is a cinematic journey through the rooms, stories and emotions of one of the most visited museums in the world. Its wealth of over 8000 art treasures is a spell-binding experience drawing almost 3 million visitors to Madrid every year.

The film interweaves the art narrative with a study of the architecture and an analysis of valuable archival materials and includes interviews with various experts from the Prado Museum. It takes a close look at not only the magnificent works of art but also the landscape, the palaces and buildings that saw the birth and development of these extraordinary collections.

The life of the Prado collection began with the birth of Spain as a nation and the marriage between Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabel of Castile; a union that marked the start of the great Spanish Empire. Yet, over the centuries, painting had been a universal language that knew no boundaries. If there is one museum where it is clear that painting was not affected by nationalism then that museum must surely be the Prado, with its eclectic and multifaceted collections demonstrating that art has no passports limiting its circulation, that rather it is a universal means to understand and convey the thoughts and feelings of human beings.

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous

The popular star of TV's Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums and has shared the stage all round the world with international mediums such as Colin Fry, James van Praagh and Lisa Williams. Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empathy. The evening may include psychometry, photographs readings and psychic prediction.

Recent legislative guidelines insist that any Evening of Mediumship should be billed 'for entertainment purposes'. Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship and Cockney charisma to entertain but more important, Mediumship has the potential to change someone's life and instil in them a sense of peace, comfort and purpose. We hope that nobody can fail to come away untouched by the experience.

The Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia, is the world's second largest art museum attracting over 4.2 million visitors from across the globe in 2018. The vast museum features more than 3 million works of art within its 66,842 sq. metres of exhibition space with a tour route of over 30kms!

Hermitage: The Power of Art tells the great stories and events that have passed down the corridors of the museum and through the streets of St. Petersburg: from its foundation by Peter I to the splendour of Catherine the Great; from the triumph of Alexander I against Napoleon, to the 1917 Revolution; and down to the present day.

The spectacular imagery brings the viewer through the magnificent interiors of the museum and the Winter Palace, to the Theatre, to Raphael's Loggias, to the Portrait Gallery of Heroes from the 1812 War. Works from Leonard, Raphael, Rubens, Rembrandt and many, many more adorn the walls, whilst outside the walls the legend of St Petersburg is conveyed through poems and stories, both during the day and its night-time splendour, all in stunning 4K.

Drawing on the best minds from around the world to focus on climate, economics, technology, civil society, agriculture and sustainability, 2040 maps out a pathway for change that can lead us to a more ecologically sustainable and equitable future.

Motivated by his 4-year-old daughter and concern for the planet she will inherit, Damon Gameau embarks on a global journey to meet the innovators and change makers pioneering the best solutions already available to us today to improve the health of our planet and societies. Inspired by these discoveries and guided by the many children he consults with along the way, Damon interweaves dramatic sequences and high-end visual effects to conjure a positive portrait of what 'could be' instead of the current dystopian future we are so often presented.

Aimed at a broad audience that includes children and their parents, serious information is delivered with irreverence and humour. Experts are shrunk into scenes to emphasise a point, animation makes the invisible visible and visual effects show how scaling these solutions by 2040 will positively impact our lives and our planet. This rich visual approach combined with the structure of an intimate letter to a daughter from her father allows for lightness and cheekiness, ensuring the film is both entertaining and educational, with the end goal being to inspire action and change

Many academics believe that people become inactive or paralysed on this topic because it all just feels too overwhelming and alarming. 2040 is an aspirational film full of hope about the possibility to make changes that will shift the course for humanity and the planet.

This is the narrative the next generation needs to see, to aspire to, and to believe is possible.
