'The course of true love never did run smooth.'

A feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious, but dark consequences.

Shakespeare's most famous romantic comedy will be captured live from the Bridge Theatre in London. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing, NT Live: Young Marx), David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom.

Directed by Nicholas Hytner, this production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will build on the success of his immersive staging of Julius Caesar (NT Live 2018). The Bridge Theatre will become a forest – a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs and moonlight revels, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot.

Frankenstein

by Nick Dear, based on the novel by Mary Shelley

Directed by Academy Award®-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch (Hamlet, BBC's Sherlock) and Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary, Trainspotting) alternating between the roles of Victor Frankenstein and his creation.

Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein's bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the increasingly desperate and vengeful Creature determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.

Scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil, are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic tale. Captured live on stage in 2011, this thrilling, sold-out production became an international sensation, experienced by almost half a million people in cinemas around the world.

Hailed as 'a masterpiece of 21st century dance' from English National Ballet, Akram Khan's Giselle comes to cinemas for the first time, giving ballet fans the opportunity to see this award-winning production in glorious high definition on the big screen. One of the greatest romantic ballets, Giselle has been re-imagined by celebrated choreographer Akram Khan with Artistic Director and Lead Principal of English National Ballet, Tamara Rojo, dancing the role of Giselle, one of a community of migrant workers cast out of their jobs in a condemned garment factory. With staging and costumes by Academy Award-winning Tim Yip (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), the ballet has won an Olivier Award and the South Bank Sky Arts Award for English National Ballet, received rapturous 5-star reviews and was sold out when performed at London's Sadler's Wells. Filmed live at the Liverpool Empire in October 2017, Akram Khan's Giselle is directed for the screen by Ross MacGibbon.

Co-produced by Manchester International Festival and Sadler's Wells. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

“English National Ballet dance this Giselle with total conviction, from Rojo's stubborn heroine to the driven, driving corps de ballet.”

***** The Independent

“Giselle has been transformed for the ENB by Akram Khan into the ballet event of the year. Staggeringly beautiful and utterly devastating, it is an electrifying triumph which any dance or theatre fan must not miss”

***** The Daily Express

“Akram Khan's stunning re-imagining is destined to become a contemporary classic.”

Filmed at the Harold Pinter Theatre, London in August 2020

Sonya (Aimee Lou Wood) and her Uncle Vanya (Toby Jones) while away their time on an isolated estate, visited occasionally only by the local doctor Astrov (Richard Armitage). However, when Sonya's father Professor Serebryakov (Roger Allam) suddenly returns with his restless, alluring, new wife Yelena (Rosalind Eleazar), polite facades crumble and long repressed feelings start to emerge. As the conflicted family are forced to confront their despair, loneliness and each other, can the beauty of life help them find new hope?

Following its critically acclaimed opening in London earlier this year, Sonia Friedman Productions' stunning 5-star production Uncle Vanya, a new adaptation of the Anton Chekhov masterpiece by Conor McPherson, directed by Ian Rickson, was abruptly halted as the world went into lockdown. Now, as the majority of theatres across the world remain in darkness, Uncle Vanya's exquisite ensemble overcome the considerable challenges of working in a global pandemic, returning to the Harold Pinter Theatre to film the 'perfect' (????? The Guardian) production, which is currently nominated for four Olivier Awards. Marrying the intimacy of the screen with the electricity of live performance in an exciting new hybrid of film and theatre, this Sonia Friedman Productions/Angelica Films co-production is far more than simply a capture of the play. Full of tumultuous frustration and hidden passions, but brimming with hope and optimism for the future, Uncle Vanya is a must-see event for our times.

The format will be slightly different with the show being shorter at 1hr 30mins with no interval, but audiences will still be treated to a full-scale pantomime with all the laughs and traditions Sevenoaks audiences have come to know and love over the years at The Stag.

Sevenoaks Panto regularly plays to well over 20,000 people each year, but for Jack and The Beanstalk, there will be less than 8,000 tickets available. It is expected that they will sell out fast.

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous

The popular star of TV's Street Psychic, Psychic Private Eyes and Psychic Academy, Tony Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums and has shared the stage all round the world with international mediums such as Colin Fry, James van Praagh and Lisa Williams. Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empathy. The evening may include psychometry, photographs readings and psychic prediction.

Recent legislative guidelines insist that any Evening of Mediumship should be billed 'for entertainment purposes'. Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship and Cockney charisma to entertain but more important, Mediumship has the potential to change someone's life and instil in them a sense of peace, comfort and purpose. We hope that nobody can fail to come away untouched by the experience.

Experience the next best thing to the superstars themselves in this exhilarating musical where Frank Sinatra time-travels from his 1950s trilby-wearing zenith to meet today's sensational Canadian contender for his crown. Who will be the favourite when their two different worlds collide...let the showdown begin!

With a full live band, the 'concert of the century that never was' sees Buble bring all of his biggest hits and Sinatra swinging his most legendary classics, alongside all the excitement & fun you'd expect from the two idols.

Hearing is believing with the show's astonishing 'Buble' Jamie Flanagan - his voice, moves and Canadian drawl are indistinguishable from the real thing. He's joined by the equally authentic Kevin Fitzsimmons, the only Frank Sinatra impersonator to be approved by the Sinatra family's Europe Representative.

“There is not a more authentic Buble out there” STAGE STATUS
“Flawless, a must-see Sinatra “ SINATRA FAMILY'S EUROPE REPRESENTATIVE
